Outlawz Progressive Challenge

Well I think it is well established how much I like a progressive challenge although I have had some problems with time frames I will admit, so here I am entering another one by the skin of my teeth over at Outlawz using this gorgeous little elephant from Gerda Steiner Designs.




Card Tip:

Mounting your pattern paper as three pieces instead of just the one adds interest to your background.

Card Ingredients:

Card Stock: white card base cut down to 5"x 6". Francheville yellow card stock, pink card stock from stash.
Stamps: Gerda Steiner Elephant and Bird, Swirly heart stamp.
Ink: Versafine black onxl ink.
Markers:
               Elephant: C1+C3+C5+C7 
               Bird: BG02+BG05, YR04
               Balloon: V01+V04+V06+V09
Dies: Couture Creations nesting scalloped circles, matting created with Brother Scan and Cut.
Other: Homemade enamel dots.

Diecut Divas Farewell to March

We have come to the end of another month at Diecut Divas and I say it every month, where did the month go. So before we say goodbye to March lets see another Bugaboo stamp project.

Fussy cutting the image and placing it over the top of a printed version enables you to not have to cut out the little details but adds depth to your focal image.

Saturated Canary Colour Challenge

Saturated Canary is having a colour challenge this week and this is my project using Beach Ink.

I got the inspiration for my sentiment from a Quietfire Design stamp, unfortunately it didn't fit my card and it is a rubber stamp so I couldn't cut it apart to re-arrange so I created this one on my computer.

A Sassy Lady

I have used my die as a template to add distress ink to my diecut with sponge dauber to further coordinate the colour scheme.

Perfectly Rustics Eggs

Its time for another challenge over at Perfectly Rustics and in the spirit of Easter the theme is Eggs. So with that in mind, I went a little bit simpler with my layout as to highlight a gorgeous and bright basket of Easter eggs.

Card Tip:

 I have used a die to emboss instead of die cutting. To do this you will still need a die cutting machine but instead of a second cutting plate in your sandwich, you use an embossing mat and possibly cardboard shims.

Card Stock: DCWR textured white card stock for 4.25" x 5.5" top folding card base, Quill black card stock.

Goblin Queen

Well over on the Simply B Stamps Facebook page there was a fun little activity going on with a group of us and Betty the creator we were giving her ideas for an image, I suggested wings and a possible dragon the end result was the Goblin Queen. From there a challenge was put forth to create a card with the image but select either a light or dark colour scheme - I went with dark.

Card Tip:

This is the first time I attempted a fantasy hair colour and when I had finished it, the red wasn't quite dark enough, so I added coloured pencil to the darker areas, I did this on her dress as well.

Your image doesn't always have to go on the front of the card, mix it up put it on the inside of do some cut away work so you see your image from the front even though its inside.

Perfectly Rustics Make it Better

Well here we are again with a brand new challenge starting over at Perfectly Rustics with a theme of Make it Better. I am sure we all have previous projects, layouts and cards that we would love to keep some of the elements but do a  "do over", well here is your chance.

If you are not up to no-line colouring, stamping your image in a light brown, like I have done here will give you an outline that is softer.

Diecut Divas March Challenge

With March brings a brand new challenge over at Diecut Divas and this month we are talking about children and spring. So what better way to celebrate  spring and children is a new arrival, so this is the card I created for a new addition to our extended family.

While fussy cutting my butterfly, I wasn't able to save her antennas. So I replaced them with picture wire, it is thin, plastic covered and easily bent into shape.
